Ultimate Frisbee Wednesday’s game against Woodlynde was a rematch following a Hawks loss at home. While the Hawks often get out to a fast start, we let in two very easy first scores in the first two minutes - and it was difficult to bounce back from on a windy day.
Max H and Jonah L provided the first half production with 3 assists and 2 TDs between them. Both Ryan P and Ben S got a score in from an additional Juan M assist before halftime. Carly C stayed marked on her opponent for the entirety of the first half - impressive defense. John B played through an injured leg in a sea of significantly taller opponents. Adam F showed up to provide our squad with some height and some great coverage on D.
The second half opened with a score of Woodlynde 6 - 4 Hawks. While the hope was to get close and tie it up, it seemed like Woodlynde’s objective was to match any score we put up. They succeeded. Ben S threw 2 passes for scores to Ryan P and Juan M in the second half, but they were not enough to counter Woodlynde’s rally of 3 in the second. Great effort from them made the game rather exciting till the end, but the score stayed out of reach. Great game.
