Collecting Yearbook Artwork
Student artists are asked to submit a favorite art piece to Sophie Bassman at [email protected] or Mrs. Seyfried at [email protected]. The artwork will be considered for the 2023-2024 yearbook! An email will be sent out to students with more details.

Black History Month
Today we highlighted the Nigerian American portrait painter Kehinde Wiley. In 2017, he made history when he became the first black artist to paint an official presidential portrait. Selected by President Barack Obama himself, Wiley was commissioned to complete the painting for the National Portrait Gallery, whose collection of presidential portraits is among its most important holdings (Metropolitan Museum of Art).
He is most well known for the mixing of black and indigenous subjects in traditionally European styles of painting. His striking portraits hang in galleries and private collections throughout the world. This mix of styles centers, black and indigenous figures at the center of the world of art that has traditionally shunned them.

Library Announcement
Mrs. Gillespie recommended an autobiographical book series by John Lewis. Student should see Mrs. Gillespie if they are interested in this series.

E/T2 Dress Drive
The E/T 2 class is holding their annual dress drive. Now through February 25th, they will be collecting clean, gently used, or new prom or formal dresses. Students will process, fix minor rips and tears, and prepare the dresses for sales. In the spring, the dresses will be put up for sale in the local community. All proceeds will benefit Philabundance. Their mission is to drive hunger from our community. Thanks in advance for your support!

If you are interested in donating, please email [email protected] for drop-off or pick-up information.
