Middle School All Star Student
Every marking period, the middle school honors a student who is involved in positivity, involved in our community, and also works hard in class.

This student doesn’t necessarily have to have the most friends or the best grades, but the student would have to show an excellent effort in academics and socializing.

The nominees for this marking period were: Max Harmelin, Owen Young, George Haughton, True Jackson. And the All Star winner is… True Jackson! Congratulations True!

Admissions Open House
An Admissions Open House will take place tomorrow, November 10th at 9:30 am.

8th grade on-campus retreat this Thursday
On Thursday, the 8th graders will be taking part in an on-campus retreat in the afternoon. Your students will be participating in fun activities meant to build unity and prepare the students for the next phase in their life.... high school. We'll be supplying the pizza and s'mores.

One of the activities they'll be participating in is a burning ceremony. A burning ceremony is an inspirational practice meant to release yourself from negativity, regrets, hurts, etc. from the past. What I ask of the students is to bring a safe object (not plastic or bulky, for instance) that represents the past that the student wants to be separate from their current life. For example, if a student did really poorly on an assignment, he can bring that assignment to school and he will throw it in the fire. If a student wants to bring in an Xbox or a basketball, the student can take a picture of the object or write about it and throw the paper in the fire.

I will have final approval over anything going into the fire, so I'll ask the students for their items by Thursday (November 11) of next week. I obviously don't want your student to throw out your Aunt Bertha's China set, so you may want to assist your student in this endeavor.

Fun Friday- 11/19
The next Fun Friday trip will take place at URBAN AIR Trampoline Park in East Norriton, PA. The trip will be on Friday, November 19 from 3:30pm until approximately 7:30pm. Mr. Betteridge has sent an email out to parents.

Cost is $45. This will cover entrance to Urban Air, jump socks, supervision, and bus transportation. We will be jumping from 4 to 6pm, at which point we'll all head to the shopping center next door to eat. There are three fast food restaurants to choose from (Arby's, Boston Market, or Taco Bell) and potentially a pizzeria if we have enough students signed up. Students will need extra money to eat. Please contact Mr. Betteridge with any questions at [email protected].

Smash Bros. Tournament
Hill Top Preparatory School is hosting a Super Smash Bros. Tournament on Saturday, November 20. It will take place at Hill Top's campus, in the Large Commons, at 10am. All students are welcome, and we're hoping to have some students from other area schools there too.

The entry fee is $20 to cover the cost of prizes and pizza, but for students who have purchased a Season Pass, the fee will be waived. We will have gift card prizes for first and second place. The value will be dependent upon total registrants. Contact Brian Betteridge with questions at [email protected].
