Today’s Music: Mercy, Mercy Me by Marvin Gaye. Released in 1971, this song became one of the most poignant anthems of sorrow regarding the environment. Thank you to Evan Brodsky for this song suggestion.
Birthday recognition from the Parent Association Each year the students receive a gift from the Hill Parent Association on their birthday. This year the students will receive a fun mobile phone card holder!
Mystery Monday- Lunch Group On Monday, Mrs. Stretch is starting a new lunch group offered to 9th grade academy and high school students. The group will be reading short stories and discussing them. The first story will be The Red-Headed League by Arthur Conan Doyle. Students interested should see Ms.Stretch or contact her at [email protected].
Hill Top Visitor We welcomed Tammy Clark from the PA Scholarship Fund today. Ms. Clark will receive a Hill Top tour from Michele Minicozzi.
ArtWorks- The deadline to register for the fall session for Artworks is this Friday.
Artworks is our afterschool program for students in ninth grade through Horizons. Ms Gulczynski announced that the first session of the ArtWorks- String Art, afterschool art activity will begin on Tuesday, 9/28. Registration forms are in the mansion lobby. The Back-to-School Cookout- Celebrating 50 Years On Friday, September 24, 2021, we hope that you will join us for a Back to School Picnic. This year, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the school, we're making the celebration a little bigger by including alumni, former faculty, trustees and the founding Fisher Family to dedicate Fisher Hall. The general schedule is as follows:
3:30- Faculty/Alumni vs. Soccer Team game on the Soccer Field
4:30- Cookout The Hill Top Community gathers to kick-off this memorable school year.
5:00- Fisher Hall Dedication The Fisher Family with Dr. Elissa Fisher will join us as we honor their commitment to Hill Top Prep.
5:30- Dessert Reception Take some time to reconnect with the Founding Family and other HIll Top Community with a celebratory cake.
Please plan to attend with your whole family – grandparents, friends and alumni are all invited!
If you would like your child to stay after school to watch the soccer game and then meet your child at the cookout, an email giving your student permission must be sent by the morning of 9/24. (This excludes soccer team members). I will then notify afternoon transportation accordingly. All students who will be staying will be attending the soccer game. If we don't receive an email, we will assume that your child should take their regular transportation home.
Attendance Procedure We will follow the attendance procedure we implemented last year. If there is any change in your child's attendance, please email [email protected] or call 610-527-3230. We will not be requiring hand-written notes, but do need a parent to either email or call in order to make a change. A change may be a late arrival, early dismissal, or absence in either online or in-person attendance.
