Spirit of the Hawk
Earlier this year ET2 students, Shane Reynolds and Chris Tanos took on the challenge of building a garden for the Philadelphia Flower focused on the Habitat of Hummingbirds. Chris and Shane researched the most hummingbird friendly plants and created a plant wish list. Last week, Chris, Shane and the plants from their list arrived at FDR park in Philadelphia. The plants were groomed, prepped, and planted. With the plants installed, Shane added the final touch, a hummingbird accessory! With a score of 97 out of 100 Shane and Chris won first place in the pocket garden class. The judges' comments were "Owned the theme! Habitat and sustainability. Strong color and design." For their hard work in service to the greater Philadelphia community, Mrs. Broadhurst, Mrs. Rumsey, and Mrs. Stretch would like to present Shane Reynolds and Chris Tanos with the Spirit of the Hawk for Service. Congratulations Shane and Chris!

Spirit Day-6/10
Upper School groups are posted in the Falcone Room and Snapple room today.
The Middle School will be participating in the second annual "Over the Hill (Top) Games." It's teachers (Geezer) v. students (the Menacing Memers) in a variety of activities as we will once again attempt to answer the question of "Which generation is better?" We'll be playing trivia games, relay races, video games, "Lady Gaga" gaga, cornhole, and much more!
On Thursday, we will be prepping for the games by writing fight songs, creating skits and banners, having a pep rally, and designing t-shirts to prepare us for "battle."
Friday is the big day where we compete. Students will not need to pack lunch on Thursday (bbq) or Friday (pizza). Your student should also wear a hat and sunscreen on both of those days.
