Hill Top’s Thanksgiving Dessert Buffet- 11/22
On Friday, we will hold our annual Thanksgiving Dessert Buffet during lunch.
Students are welcome to send a small dessert in to school on the morning of the 22nd to share with the Hill Top community. Faculty and students will be together to enjoy lunch. (students on the lunch plan will be served pizza, and all others will bring lunch as usual). During lunch, the entire community will participate in a "What are you thankful for" activity before enjoying the dessert buffet. After everyone has finished eating lunch, we will enjoy the dessert buffet. Students should let Mr. Van Dyke know that they brought in dessert on Friday morning so that they are credited with a Hill Top Cup Point. For homemade goodies, please include a list of ingredients so we can help those with allergies stay safe.
Food Drive-Nov. 18-Nov. 22
The USSC is currently conducting the Annual Philabundance canned food drive. Students and faculty are encouraged to bring in some nonperishable foods, (protein preferred-tuna, peanut butter, beans, etc.) Please, no glass containers. Students who do so will earn Hill Top Cup points for their team but more importantly, they'll be contributing to a great cause. Donations should be placed in the students’ cup team boxes, which will be found outside the Meeting Room. Donations will be delivered to a local affiliate of Philabundance. Thanks for your donations!
A family from Lafayette Hill visited Hill Top this morning to learn about the middle school for their son for next year.

Art Soup T-shirt Fundraiser
As previously announced, the winner of this year's Art Soup t-shirt design competition was Elijah Osborne! The Art Soup t-shirts with Elijah's design are available through Custom Ink and will be open through November 22nd.
This fundraiser focuses on the Student Travel Fund. This fund helps support students who might not be able to take part in the life-changing experience of traveling with their peers through the Hill Top travel program. What better way is there to support our students than getting a really cool t-shirt?
T-shirts are selling for $25 each and can be shipped directly to the school for free (they'll arrive before Art Soup on December 13th) or you can choose to have them shipped to your home. Here is the link to view a photo of the shirt, and purchase: Art Soup 2019 T-Shirts
The sale of t-shirts with Elijah’s fantastic design ends this Friday, November 22nd. Contact Ms. Gulczynski with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for supporting a great cause!

An email with more details about this program has been sent home to parents. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Betteridge at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Plastic Bottle Caps Needed
Bob DiTore is asking for your help in collecting bottle caps for his Project Vortex assignment. The collection bin is in the mansion lobby. Thank you!
Soles4Souls’ Shoe Collection
Hill Top is collecting new and gently used shoes. Donated shoes will be repurposed and distributed through Soles4Souls’, a micro-enterprise program that create jobs in Haiti, Honduras and other developing nations. The program helps individuals start small businesses.
Jared Miller is supporting his brother Zachary with this service project. The collection bin is in the mansion lobby. Thanks in advance for your help!
Box Tops for Education Campaign
The MSSC has renewed sponsorship of the Box Tops for Education campaign. These are the pink and white coupons found on cereal boxes, other General Mills products, paper products, household cleaning products, and many other products, including food storage products such as Ziplock Bags. The school gets ten cents for each one we submit. It may not sound like much, but it will add up if we take the time to cut them out and bring them in. A collection box will be on Mrs. Barnes’s desk.
We have collected $41.00 from everyone's Box Top coupons. Our goal is to double that by the next collection period in April.
Now there's an easier way to do it. Simply scan your store receipt within 14 days of purchase with the Box Tops mobile app to identify participating products and instantly add cash to our school's earnings online.
See how at BTFE.com. (Your phone should be set to automatically update the Box Tops app.)
All unexpired clipped Box Top coupons are still being accepted.
Updated Hill Top Job Board
The Hill Top Job Board has been updated with part time/seasonal positions. The board is located in the Upper Linden hallway and is divided into the 5 surrounding counties. The jobs posted are suitable positions for students. Students who are seeking a job are encouraged to take a posting as well as let Mrs. Navarra know if they have a job to post. Mrs. Navarra also offered to assist any student in seeking employment.

As we are now into the winter months, here are a few things to remember regarding transportation and school closings. If you child takes school district transportation, please make sure that you pay attention to your individual school district’s instructions. If your district is delayed, your child’s bus will be delayed, if your district is closed, your child will not have transportation to Hill Top. If Hill Top is open and your district is closed, your child’s absence will not be counted as a day out of school. If Hill Top closes due to the weather, you will receive an automated phone call letting you know the status of the day. In addition, you will see the information on our school’s website, and all of the major TV stations will have our school name and status on the “crawl” at the bottom of the screen. Our school phone message will have the information as well. Please contact me with any questions at email@example.com.
