Philanthropy in Action

Our dedicated supporters believe in the transformative power of people who not only think differently, but who also problem-solve and lead in unique ways. Thanks to their generosity, Hill Top Preparatory School is able to provide innovative academic programs, personalized support services, and life-changing opportunities for neurodiverse learners.

It is our mission, and privilege, to celebrate our students’ differences, harness their unique gifts, and equip them with the skills to successfully navigate the world. With heartfelt appreciation, we extend our sincerest thanks to each and every one of our supporters for their unwavering commitment to championing the potential of these neurodiverse individuals. Together, we are preparing Hill Top students to authentically be themselves, and thrive, while contributing to the creation of a better world around them.

Mrs. Stretch’s Horticulture Class clinched the esteemed FIRST PRIZE in their division at The Philadelphia Flower Show! Their exhibit, the ‘Sense’-ational Garden, was not just a visual spectacle, it was a multi-sensory journey designed to captivate and inspire visitors of all abilities. Through vibrant colors, soothing textures, and a gentle environment, Hill Top students created an immersive experience that engaged the senses and fostered a deeper connection with the natural world.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our students, while demonstrating the transformative power of hands-on learning and experiential education. Congratulations to the Horticulture Class!

In the Fall of 2023, Hill Top Prep hosted George Rothacker, an unconventional learner turned storied local artist. Taking place in the J.R. Porter Studio and Art Gallery, George’s evocative paintings transported attendees into the world of 20th-century American literature, immersing themselves in the visual narratives of iconic writers, and deepening their understanding of the cultural intersections of literature and art.

George’s paintings and vast cultural knowledge served as a dynamic educational experience for our students. Through guided tours and interactive discussion, they gained valuable insights into the creative process and learned to interpret art as a form of storytelling. Encouraged to express themselves through writing and poetry, the accompanying essay contest also provided a platform for students to showcase their literary talents and receive recognition for their creative efforts.

We are grateful to George Rothacker for sharing his extraordinary talent and vision with us, and for bringing Hill Top’s commitment to inspiring creativity, fostering cultural enrichments, and nurturing the uniqueness of our students to life!

The Student Enrichment Fund ensures Hill Top Prep’s comprehensive experience is available for all students regardless of their ability to pay. Funds raised benefit underserved, neurodiverse students by providing mini-scholarships to cover the costs of extracurricular programming. These activities help to develop social skills and promote strong executive functioning. Activities range from monthly “Fun Friday” outings to national and international travel opportunities.

Thanks to your support, we’ve empowered individuals to navigate public spaces with confidence and independence. Together, we’ve worked to break down barriers and foster inclusivity for all members of our community. Check out some of the outings from this school year!

Thanks to our supporters, Hill Top Prep is able to offer a three-year elective to Upper School students focused on acquiring the soft skills many employers are looking for in the modern workforce. It also serves as an opportunity to give back to our community! Each year, our second year E/T students hold a dress sale benefitting an area charity while offering new and gently used prom dresses for low cost to area residents. This year’s highly successful sale benefited Philabundance.

The annual initiative serves as a wonderful opportunity to provide leadership experience to our students. From planning and promotion, to logistics and sales, students play a hands-on role in every aspect of the event, gaining practical experience and confidence that will serve them well in future workplace settings.

Hill Top Preparatory School is the Main Line leader in the education of neurodiverse learners. Our campus is such a special place because of the students we are privileged to welcome. In that spirit, Hill Top prioritizes our fundraising efforts to provide scholarships to many of our students. A quality education is important, and we believe it is our responsibility to offer financial support so that a Hill Top Prep experience is available to the families who need it most. We wouldn’t be able to do this without you, our generous donors. Thank you!
