Week before winter break community meeting!

hello Hilltop prep mr. Van Dyke here with a special week before winter break virtual community meeting first I just want to say how proud we all are of how you're handling this virtual time it's obviously not what any of us one and we know it's not easy for you or your families were given the circumstances it's the right thing to do thank you all for your hard work your patience and your understanding we start today's community meeting from hilltops newest Outdoor Classroom thanks to a gram from the foundation for Delaware County this new permanent Outdoor Classroom was delivered on Friday and now resides right here next to the Middle School patio can't wait for you all to see it also this week There's a crew installing a new ventilation an air purification system in the Mansion common areas that will complement the one installed in the classrooms earlier this fall shout out to mr. Woodcock and his team for coordinating these important events that will help us stay healthy weld the pandemic next up from Miss Gargiulo the middle school will celebrate the winter holidays with a virtual gathering on Friday at 12:40 during a CL. Dress in your festive best and be ready play holiday seems games this will happen over Google me using the link on our Middle School holiday classroom page okay from an announcement about some of our younger students to an announcement about some of our oldest students mrs. Gillespie wants to share her congratulations and hours with following students on their recent College acceptances starting  off Kelsey McArdle sound University congratulations next Colton Norman Cabrini University David redpath Delaware County Community College and wrapping things up Elijah Osborne Axel University as well as Cabrini University congratulations to you all here's an announcement from Miss Hardeman on Saturday the speech and debate team competed in the North Catholic Invitational the competition was completely virtual and included for preliminary round the following students competed Luke Irwin a lebert Pryor Eddie seasoning Ellen I knew Frank Connor Harvey McAfee and ligotti events competed in included student Congress original oratory poetry prose and impromptu speaking congratulations to all the competitors for their hard work at a tough tournament the team is open to anyone regardless of if you are in the speech and debate elective if you're interested in joining please contact Miss Hartman these nuts to announcements are for Mr Betteridge please Joy Super Smash Brothers teams on Mondays and Fridays at 7 p.m. on our twitch Channel That's Twitch. TV forward slash Hilltop Hawks the team will be practicing live and chatting about their matches all students are welcome to Fort state in the chat to there will even be a few fun daytime stream so check out the schedule on hilltops Twitch Channel Western Vista Betteridge a reminder that BSD is offering a week-long Esports Camp over winter break featuring The Game brawlhalla students will learn game strategy and other useful skills and what even participate in a tournament at the end of the week. Only is brawlhalla a lot of fun but everything you learn will also help improve your skills similar games like Smash Bros and best of all portions of the tuition will go toward building Hilltop c sports program so it's a great way to have fun and support the school to alright looking ahead to break Hilltop putting together a winter break online checkers and chess tournament whether you're a seasoned veteran or just getting started you're welcome to join us all you have to do is send me an email letting me know which game you'd like to play and at what level experience door beginner if you'd like to participate please email me this information by Friday December 18th we plan to run the games from December 21st through January 8th calling all skiers borders and tubers you and your family are interested in a Hilltop day at Blue Mountain we're planning a day when we can all meet at the mountain for some fun on the slopes we're looking at Wednesday December 30th as a possible date for this event so if you and your family are interested please me know if we have interest I'll send out information about how to proceed okay-looking even a little further ahead to our return in January on the first day back up for school students will select new scl activities new activities did the beginning include amusement park Fanatics remote control Club hang out at Hogwarts printmaking and Hilltop game show will also be continuing some old favorites such as No Child Left inside Cambridge Tower a Japanese Club House Fan GarageBand marvelous Mondays and more are scheduled to be selected on January 11th and should begin on Wednesday January 13th well that'll just about do it for today we hope you call have a productive rest of the week followed by a peaceful happy and healthy holiday break and we very much look forward to seeing you all in the new year
