Bake Sale 3/22- Before school & at Lunch
The Hill Top Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee & The Bean Scene will be running a bake sale for charity next Friday March 22. They will be accepting baked goods Friday morning (with full ingredient lists) and will also be providing a wider selection of multicultural snacks. The best part is that the Bean Scene will be running TWICE! In the morning as normal and also during lunch. Please join us in supporting a great cause as all the money raised will be donated to Black Girls Code, an organization dedicated to advancing STEM Education and opportunities in the field for young women.

Women’s History Month
Today, in keeping with the theme of this year’s Women’s History Month, which is “Women who advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion the DEI committee would like to honor the achievements of a particular Woman from history. If there is a woman that you would like to highlight during community meeting this month, DEI welcomes you to submit suggestions to Mr. McGinnis. Extra points if you’d like to deliver the announcement.

Juliette Gordon Low, born on October 31, 1860, in Savannah, Georgia, was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to empowering young women. She grew up in a wealthy and prominent family, which provided her with the resources and opportunities to pursue her passions. Despite facing challenges due to a hearing impairment, she was a spirited and determined individual. Inspired by her experiences traveling abroad and the desire to make a difference in the lives of other women, she founded the Girl Scouts of the USA in 1912, igniting a movement that would shape generations of girls to come. Her vision for the organization was to cultivate leadership skills, self-reliance, and confidence in young girls, and foster a sense of community and service.

Throughout her lifetime, Juliette Gordon Low was a trailblazer for female empowerment and social change. She was a tireless advocate for girls' education and believed fervently in the power of outdoor activities to instill courage and resilience. Low's legacy extends far beyond the founding of the Girl Scouts; her pioneering spirit continues to inspire millions of girls worldwide to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on their communities. Today, Juliette Gordon Low is remembered as a visionary leader, philanthropist, and champion for girls' rights, leaving an indelible mark on the world through her dedication to the empowerment of young women.
