Middle School Student Council Promoting Amazon Smile

AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on Amazon Smile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate half of a percent of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice.

The MSSC is supporting a sign-up campaign for students, faculty, family and friends to go to Smile.Amazon.com and designate Hill Top as your non-profit charity.  It is important to type Hill Top Preparatory NOT Hill Top Prep; otherwise, our school does not appear in the search.

As of October of this year, Hill Top has received $186.00 from the Amazon Foundation, but just imagine how much greater this amount could be if every Hill Top family used Smile.Amazon for their purchases.

It’s free to sign up, fun to shop and free money for Hill Top.

Notes from the Transition Office

On Saturday, February 2nd, Drexel University is hosting its annual Materials Science and Engineering Day. This is a day of free demonstrations and workshops related to all things science and engineering related (think liquid nitrogen ice cream and shrinky dink polymers). Information about the day can be found here: phillymaterials.org.

Mrs. Gillespie and Mr. Riley will take a van down to the event if there are students interested who need help with transportation.

Transportation Reminder

As we are now into the winter months, here are few things to remember regarding transportation and school closings.  If you child takes school district transportation, please make sure that you pay attention to your individual school district’s instructions.  If your district is delayed, your child’s bus will be delayed, if your district is closed, your child will not have transportation to Hill Top.  If Hill Top is open and your district is closed, your child’s absence will not be counted as a day out of school.  If Hill Top closes due to the weather, you will receive an automated phone call letting you know the status of the day.  In addition, you will see the information on our school’s website, and all of the major TV stations will have our school name and status on the “crawl” at the bottom of the screen.  Our school phone message will have the information as well.  Please contact me with any questions at [email protected].

Happy Birthday toMs.Kroberger and Bella Vaughan!
