Art Teacher 

Job Description:

Hill Top Preparatory School, the Main Line Leader in the education of neurodivergent learners, seeks a full or half-time art teacher to provide instruction in the visual arts for students, grades 5-12, for the 2026-2027 school year. Working with another art teacher, this position fosters creativity through techniques such as drawing, painting, and ceramics. Responsibilities include developing curriculum, preparing materials, assessing student progress, and organizing school art exhibits. A bachelor’s degree in art, state clearances, and teaching experience are required. Additionally, an affinity and/or experience working with students with learning differences is required.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Teach artistic techniques (drawing, painting, ceramics, design) and art history using demonstrations and visual aids.
  • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans adhering to state and local curriculum standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom, including managing, storing, and inventorying art supplies.
  • Evaluate student performance through projects, assignments, and tests, providing regular progress reports.
  • Foster student self-expression, assist students needing extra help, and manage student behavior in the classroom and school common areas.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and collaborate on school-wide projects.
  • Plan and organize school art shows and display student work for the community.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
  • Pennsylvania state clearances.
  • Proficiency in various art mediums and techniques.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability to meet changing school needs and safety regulations.
  • Experience working with varying learning styles is preferred.

Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Department: Clinical

Reports to: Head of Clinical Department 

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Head of the Clinical Department, the Occupational Therapist provides educational occupational services to students at the Hill Top Preparatory School. Additionally, the Occupational Therapist teaches OT-based employability curriculum and other classes as needed. The position is full-time, 10 months, during the school year.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review files of newly enrolled students (as they enroll) to determine the need for OT services and level of service.
  • Maintains a caseload of students providing intervention in the areas of fine motor performance, coordination, postural stability, perceptual motor performance, sensory processing, self-regulation, executive functioning skills and functional skills as they relate to the student accessing their educational program.
  • Maintains accurate records of students served in the occupational therapy program, including any required assessments and documentation of intervention.
  • Collect data on progress on goal areas for each student and meet all required time limits.
  • Conduct assessments as needed for District record keeping or as requested by District.
  • Writes quarterly progress reports for OT students. Provides parent conference opportunities during fall conferences.
  • Maintains documentation and grades for students in courses taught.
  • Collaborates positively with faculty and parents regarding student strategies that support student success.
  • Participates in team, department, committee and student specific meetings and other meetings, as needed.
  • Provides OT consultation for all students and direct or indirect OT for identified students.
  • Provides teacher education on occupational therapy and/or relevant skill areas.
  • Provides teacher education on Employability program and skills when asked - during meetings, in-service presentations, off-campus, etc.
  • Educates school personnel regarding classroom seating, accessibility, sensory equipment, assistive technology and materials, best practices for physical space, etc.

Other Duties:

  • Attend evening and weekend events as indicated in the Employee Handbook.
  • Drive a school van during field trips and events.
  • Performs such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Performs all related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program Qualification Requirements.
  • Must be a PA licensed Occupational Therapist and hold OT practice insurance.
  • Maintains all clearances required by Hill Top Prep School.
  • Maintains a PA driver's license.
  • Affinity for and experience working with students with learning differences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, administration and public partners.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of technology as required for job and knowledge of accessibility-related programs and materials.
  • Must have the proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
