Friday’s Lunch Corner
Our Clinical Interns will be hosting a lunch group this Friday at 12:05 pm for 5th-8th grade. They will be getting together, virtually, and watching fun and oddly satisfying videos, while also chatting about any fun topics or questions you may have. Anyone who is interested should see Mrs. Mathis or their counselor for information.

Spirit of the Hawk
Mr. Cohen announced that in 9th grade Eastern World Cultures, we are getting ready to study communist China. Before we do that, it's important that the students know the difference between socialism and capitalism. The students are asked to write essays giving their opinions on the two economic philosophies. Two students went above and beyond the expectations of the assignment by giving their opinions of each philosophy using their own words and giving an analysis that you might hear in a college economics class. They both took different points of view, but they were respectful and had an amazing grasp of the material assigned to them. This sparked a discussion in the class that was led by their writing. Mr. Cohen said he was pleased to award a Spirit of the Hawk award for Leadership to Giancarlo Baccara and Juan Marrero.

Young Writer's Award
Mrs. Jones announced that Will Morrissey has earned first place for his submission to the Young Writer's Award!!!! Will worked SO hard on his piece and it was incredibly beautifully written. The award is well-deserved! He and his family will be invited to a Zoom ceremony and he will be sent a cash prize for his efforts. Congratulations, Will!!

Hill Top’s Butterfly Garden- Tomorrow is the Deadline to Place Shirt Orders.
Did you know that the Monarch Butterfly population has decreased by 80% since the mid 1990s? In 2019 Hill Top Students decided to do something about this! The 8th grade class' Unless Project and Hill Top Horticulture began the planning stages for the Hill Top Preparatory School Community Butterfly Garden. This year the planning continued with Hill Top's science classes and ET classes joining the fun. This spring we WILL to bring this project to fruition with the installation of a butterfly garden. But we need your support! Please purchase a Save the Monarch T-shirt or hoodie designed by our own Hill Top Prep Alum Zephyr Markley class of 2020!

T-shirts and hoodies can be purchased using the following link
