Fitness Club- pick up at 4:00 pm

Morning Music
Today’s music was suggested by Brendon Murphy and called Big Time Rush. This was an American pop music boy band formed in 2009 and a favorite of Mr. Cohen’s.

Hill Top Spirit Day
On Friday, November 20th, we are inviting everyone to participate in a Hill Top Spirit Day. Wear your Hill Top gear or Blue and White to show your school spirit!

Spirit Wear Store
The Hill Top Prep Spirit Wear Shop was such a success that we have decided to leave the store open through December 5th. If you haven’t yet picked something out to show your Hill Top Spirit, make sure you do before the store closes. Orders placed by December 5th are guaranteed to arrive in time for the winter holidays. Hill Top Spirit Wear makes a great gift for that special someone (or yourself). Parents are encouraged to select “in store pickup” to save some money on delivery charges. We’ll pick items up at the store and have them here at Hill Top for you.

Winter Sports
This is the last week of the fall sports season. The winter sports season begins on December 7th! Registration information for Basketball, and Winter Fitness Club, was emailed home. Students interested should return their registration forms by Today. Please contact Mr. Van Dyke with any question at [email protected].

New SEL
Calling all remote-control enthusiast… Aiden Jones would like to start an RC Club as an SEL. If you are interested in joining the RC club, or would like to learn more about what the club will be all about, you are encouraged to talk to Aidan. New SEL’s will begin when we return from Thanksgiving break.

Spirit of the Hawk from Ms. Lesser
Hunter has greatly impressed me with his calm and encouraging demeanor. He is extremely patient with his classmates, taking every opportunity to help them through challenges, whether they be academic, social, or behavioral in nature. Yesterday in Pre-Algebra class, Hunter rephrased the lesson's important concepts in order to help a classmate who was having difficulty understanding the material. Furthermore, he was able to do so while remaining calm and collected even though his classmate continued to experience frustration. This incident truly reflects Hunter's kind spirit and his genuine desire to help others succeed and feel good about themselves. Congratulations Hunter on earning a Spirit of the Hawk for service!

Post-Secondary Corner
Some more Thanksgiving Parade trivia for you. The first balloon floats appeared in the 1927 Macy's parade. Since then, one character has appeared in more parades than any other. Can you guess who it is? Send your guess to Mrs. Gillespie and if you get it right, you can win some junk.
And if you could create a balloon character, who or what would it be?

BROvember
The National Honor Society BRO-B-Q is on Friday! That means that if you haven't yet responded to the email questionnaire about what you would like to have to eat, you need to do that now! Here are some things that you should know about Friday's Bro-B-Q...
*. There is no cost for your lunch of a hamburger, cheeseburger, hot dog, or veggie burger, a bag of chips, a drink, and a rice Krispie treat.
* You can bring your own lunch if you prefer
*The amazing band, Hot Mess, will be playing for our enjoyment
*There is a student council sponsored balloon parade (Kinda like Macy's Thanksgiving parade only much better) with some awesome prizes
*This event will begin at 12:05 with grades 5-8 at the soccer field, grade 9 academy at the outdoor classroom, and grades 10-Post Grad at the grove of trees outside lower Linden.
*Social Distancing with masks is required and the rule about no phones until you're finished eating is still in play
*But why would you be on a phone if you could be enjoying Hot Mess or making a great balloon for the parade??
*The Bro-B-Q is scheduled from 12:05 until mid SEL period depending upon the number of balloons in the parade and how many encores we can get Hot Mess to play!
*The weather predicted is a nice 62^, you are encouraged to wear your Hill Top spirit wear. This will be the last time that we are all together as Hill Top Bros before Thanksgiving, And Bro, not to be lame, but I am really thankful for my entire Hill Top family!
