Greetings, from Mike Cohen, Head of Middle School,
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year. We look forward to teaming up with you to help your Hill Top student face and conquer new challenges.
As far as getting ready for the new academic year, school supplies do not make up a large list! We would like your student to have a backpack for books, homework, etc., with laptop space, some pens and pencils, and clothing required to meet the dress code.
As always, we will provide a laptop, calculators in math, and other supplies on the day as needed.
When contacting school is on the table, the best plan depends on the situation.
- If you have questions about attendance or general school events, contact Gail Barnes ([email protected]).
- If you have questions about a specific assignment or class, contact the teacher of that course.
- If you have questions about several classes or your student in general, contact your student's mentor.
Should any of those people not be the right recipient of your communication, they can and will direct you to the appropriate administrator, faculty or staff member, etc. You can access the staff directory for specific emails.

Michael Cohen, a valued member of the Hill Top Community since 2003, assumes the role of Team Leader for the Middle School. His responsibilities include supervising Middle School faculty and students, overseeing various activities, and ensuring students are engaging with each other constructively. Certified to teach Social Studies, English, and Special Education, Mr. Cohen brings a diverse skill set to his leadership position.
