Spirit of the Hawk Award
Mrs. Kassab shared a great story this morning about the Colgate University trip that ended with one particular student's experience with courage.
The Hill Top students were asked to help critique some of the Colgate student presentations. It was a moment of full-on pride, Mrs. Kassab said, as our students freely participated in making relevant comments and asking meaningful questions. The head of the program turned around to the Hill Top group and asked if anyone wanted to pitch an idea and Austin Newbold stood up, took center stage and began talking about his Shark Tank idea. He explained his idea, to a group of people, with fluidity, passion and great courage. Austin later that weekend described this moment as "his power moment" In the spirit of courage, Mrs. Kassab, awarded Austin Newbold with our Spirit of the Hawk award.
Shadow Guide
We welcomed Colin Emmanuel who is shadowing Connor Harvey in the 8th grade.

Box Tops for Education Campaign
The MSSC has renewed sponsorship of the Box Tops for Education campaign. These are the pink and white coupons found on cereal boxes, other General Mills products, paper products, household cleaning products, and many other products, including food storage products such as Ziplock Bags. The school gets ten cents for each one we submit. It may not sound like much, but like Amazon Smile donations, it will add up if we take the time to cut them out and bring them in. A collection box will be on Mrs. Stamler’s desk. Thank you!
